Established in 1999, Wunder Academy is located in Bellaire, Texas, a city located in southwest Houston in the Bellaire, Meyerland, and West University metropolitan area. Through the years, Wunder Academy has taught thousands of students of all ages through private lessons, group lessons, and classroom teaching. Over the years, many of our students have achieved Sonatina Awards, High School Diploma Awards through National Piano Auditions, and both Early and Advanced Bach Awards. Some have even gone on to become professional teachers, composers, and performers.

About the Director
Sherry Liu earned a cum laude bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Houston. She received a scholarship to study in Europe, obtaining an Art of Teaching Diploma and Certificate of Distinction in Piano from the Royal Academy of Music in London. Ms. Liu is an accomplished pianist and educator with a diverse teaching background. From 1997-1999, she taught at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, The Houston Conservatory of Music, and served as Treasurer for the Prague International Piano Master classes. From 1994-1995, she taught at the Preparatory School of the Royal Academy of Music. As Miss Chinatown Houston, she performed at the Miss Chinatown USA Talent Competition in 1992, earning a standing ovation. Her performances included solo recitals at Oxford University and Duke's Hall in the UK, as well as the Dudley Recital Hall and The Chinese Culture Center in Houston. Ms. Liu also visited the Paris Conservatory for her thesis and attended Master classes at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Italy.
Musical Philosophy
Ms. Liu is a popular piano teacher who has taught over 1,000 students in Taiwan, London, and Houston. She is certified to teach all eight levels of piano, from young children to professionals. Many of her students have received awards and been accepted into notable music schools such as Rice University and Oberlin College.
She is a member of several music organizations, including the Music Teachers' National Association and the Texas Music Teachers' Association. Born in Taiwan, Ms. Liu started playing piano at age 4, inspired by her sisters, and her parents supported her musical journey.
As the director and lead instructor at Wunder Academy, she specializes in iCap (Interactive Computer-Assisted Piano) and Pianotopia for preschoolers. Wunder Academy provides piano instruction in private and HISD schools in the Houston area.
Ms. Liu believes music should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill level. She enjoys teaching both beginners and experienced musicians, seeing the arts as fundamental to humanity and society.
